JK Rowling criticizes Indian-origin trans CEO who quit ѕєχual assault support centre after controversial report.

Acclaimed author JK Rowling has publicly criticized Mridul Wadhwa following her resignation as CEO of the Edinburgh rape Crisis Centre (ERCC), alleging that Wadhwa did not adequately safeguard women-only spaces. This criticism emerged in the wake of a troubling report that highlighted significant shortcomings in the organization’s commitment to protecting such spaces.
Wadhwa stepped down after a review conducted by Rape Crisis Scotland (RCS) determined that she had “failed to set professional standards of behaviour” and did not fully grasp the limitations of her role. The independent investigation, overseen by legal expert Vicky Ling, revealed that some women utilizing the service had experienced harm as a result of their interactions. This inquiry was initiated after Roz Adams successfully claimed constructive dismissal against ERCC in May, bringing to light issues of harassment and discrimination.
