4th daughter dies after mom’s alleged murder-suicide

A fourth child from the same family has tragically succumbed days after an apparent murder-suicide involving Wyoming mother Tranyelle Harshman. Previous reports have detailed how Harshman allegedly shot her four daughters before turning the gun on herself on February 10, 2025.

Brailey Blackmer, aged 9, along with 2-year-old twins Brooke and Jordan Harshman, and Tranyelle herself, died from their injuries. Seven-year-old Olivia Blackmer was airlifted to a hospital in Salt Lake City, garnering prayers for her recovery from people worldwide as the story captured international attention.

Regrettably, father Quinn Blackmer announced on Facebook on Sunday, February 16, that Olivia had lost her fight for life.

“I know this isn’t the update people were hoping for, and we are absolutely devastated to share it, but we needed time to process what had occurred before informing the world of the tragic passing of Olivia yesterday (February 15) afternoon at 3:44 pm,” Quinn stated.

“The level of devastation we are experiencing is immense. We kindly ask for time and space for all families involved during this extraordinarily difficult period in our lives.”

Quinn expressed a small measure of comfort in the belief that his daughters are together.

“The solace I find is in knowing that my children are not separated from one another and can also be with their other sisters,” he remarked.

Reports indicate that Tranyelle Harshman, 32, was grappling with postpartum depression, post-traumatic stress disorder, and depression. On the day of the alleged incident, she contacted the police to confess to shooting her daughters, warning them of her intention to take her own life afterward.

Tranyelle’s partner, Cliff Harshman, conveyed to the Cowboy State Daily that she had been enduring significant struggles. “My wife was not a monster,” he stated.

Regarding her health challenges, he noted, “Most people don’t understand how that affects the brain. It’s a chemical imbalance, and it can be worsened by attempts to manage it with medication.”
