A plane disaster in D.C. claimed the lives of two young ice skating sisters

The most catastrophic aviation incident in recent decades has left the United States reeling. A tragic plane crash in Washington, D.C. on Wednesday night resulted in the loss of sixty-seven lives, including sisters Everly and Alydia Livingston along with their parents, Peter and Donna. The Livingston family was among the many victims of this horrific event.

As reported by WTAJ, a news outlet in Pennsylvania, the passengers aboard American Airlines Flight 5342 included Donna Smojice Livingston, her husband Peter, and their two daughters, Everly, aged 14, and Alydia, aged 11.

The Daily Mail has noted that Everly and Alydia were accomplished figure skaters affiliated with the Washington Figure Skating Club. They regularly practiced at the Ashburn Ice House, a central hub for the local skating community in Virginia. Just days prior to the tragedy, their father captured a photograph of the girls in Kansas, serving as one of many cherished memories reflecting their passion for skating and life.
