Beloved actor dies at 37 after being shot in Los Angeles

Tributes are being paid to General Hospital actor Johnny Wactor, who was tragically killed in Los Angeles on Saturday morning at the age of 37. Wactor lost his life while attempting to protect a colleague from thieves who were trying to steal his catalytic converter.

At approximately 3:25 a.m., after completing his shift at a rooftop bar, Wactor was escorting his coworker to her vehicle when he noticed three masked individuals near his car. His brother Grant shared with the Daily Mail, “We are Southern by birth and blood, and we would never allow a woman to walk to her car unaccompanied.”

Under the impression that his car was being towed, Wactor approached the scene, only to encounter an armed assailant. He moved to shield his coworker and was subsequently shot fatally.

The Los Angeles Police Department is actively pursuing the suspects involved in this incident.

Fans and colleagues have come together to honor Wactor, who was widely recognized for his role as Brando Corbin on General Hospital. Co-star William deVry described the tragedy as “senseless,” stating, “There are no words to describe how pointless this is.”
