The heartbreaking news was shared through a poignant Facebook post by her great-granddaughter, Dalyce Kelley, on Sunday, January 12. “About an hour ago the coroner confirmed her remains were indeed found at the property. #RIPMOMMADEE 🕊️,” Kelley expressed. “We had a great run. She impacted my life in so many ways. This loss is devastating.” Known affectionately as “Momma D,” Curry was last seen by Kelley on Tuesday evening when she was dropped off at her residence, unaware of the impending disaster. The following morning, Kelley hurried to check on her grandmother but was halted by a police barricade, only to learn that the property had been entirely destroyed.

In a frantic search, Kelley visited the Pasadena Civic Center, where assistance was being provided to displaced residents, but Curry was not among those present. Days later, the sorrowful confirmation arrived that Curry had succumbed to the fire.
