Carrie Underwood, 41, lives a simple life despite her immense $140M fortune
With an estimated net worth of $140 million, it may be presumed that Carrie Underwood indulges in a lavish lifestyle. However, in contrast to her considerable wealth, the renowned artist exhibits a surprisingly modest demeanor. The Grammy Award winner, who is the mother of two sons, Isiah, aged 9, and Jacob, aged 5, with her husband Mike Fisher, does not lead an extravagant life. Instead, she prefers to engage in simple activities such as walking or playing with her children.
One might expect someone of Underwood’s stature to be a significant spender, yet she recently shared a cost-saving strategy on her Instagram stories after recognizing the high expense of one of her family’s preferred snacks.
Underwood disclosed that she, along with her husband, former NHL player Mike Fisher, and their sons Isaiah and Jacob, have developed a fondness for TruFru—chocolate-covered, freeze-dried fruit. However, she expressed dissatisfaction with its high price.
Accompanying a photo of her homemade version, Underwood confessed, “The TruFru addiction has gotten out of hand at our house. It’s so dang expensive, so I started making my own.”
Not one to splurge, she is passionate about sustainable living. Underwood’s frugal tendencies extend well beyond snacks. The American Idol alum owns an expansive 400-acre ranch in Tennessee, where she cultivates a variety of produce. She frequently engages in pickling, preserving, and even crafting her own yogurt.
Despite her demanding schedule, which includes a residency in Las Vegas, she prioritizes her time at home and fully embraces the rural lifestyle whenever possible.
“My least favorite part of touring is being away from home,” she shared with fellow country artist Jimmie Allen during an interview with E! News. “Despite living this life, I’m such a homebody. I don’t like vacations. I don’t like going places. I don’t really like traveling. I want to be at home.”
She applies her own makeup for concerts.
Underwood is also open about her passion for couponing. Despite her substantial wealth, she finds no reason to overlook a good bargain.
Another surprising method she employs to manage expenses is by doing her own hair and makeup for concerts and events. In contrast to many celebrities who depend on professional glam teams, Underwood often prepares herself before stepping onto the stage.
“I know what works for me,” she has stated, noting that she appreciates the process and the control it affords her.
A Harmonious Life with Mike Fisher
While Underwood enjoys a tranquil home life, her husband Mike Fisher is quite the opposite socially. The retired hockey player flourishes in social environments and maintains a wide circle of friends, which Underwood recognizes encourages her to step beyond her comfort zone.
“I would literally never leave my house,” she confessed on Today’s Country Radio With Kelleigh Bannen on Apple Music Country. “I get nervous in crowds and in group settings and stuff like that. He’s got a million friends and we’re always hanging out with them. So yeah, I feel like we balance each other out.”
