Dog shot over 70 times by BB gun makes recovery

Numerous individuals exist who should never be permitted to own or be in proximity to animals. Some years ago, Hayden Howard observed that something was amiss with her dog.

Her English Mastiff, Jackson, had been playing in the backyard while she remained indoors. Upon calling him inside, she noticed what appeared to be insect bites covering his body.

However, upon closer inspection, she discovered a far more disturbing reality.

The dog, Jackson, was actually riddled with bullet wounds.

“I was utterly astonished; I was at a loss for words,” Hayden recounted to WXIN.

Upon realizing that Jackson had been shot, she immediately took him to the veterinarian. The examination revealed numerous small projectiles that had been discharged from a BB gun.

“There was one lodged beneath his eyelid, another in his ear, one in his knee; they were pervasive,” Hayden stated.

The sheer number of bullets necessitated the shaving of nearly all of Jackson’s fur to extract the plastic fragments. In total, the veterinarian removed 27 bullets but was compelled to leave 20 in place.

Additionally, the veterinarian discovered 20 more bullet wounds on Jackson’s small frame. He had sustained over 70 gunshot wounds.

“I have never encountered an animal that has been shot this many times. It is an exceptionally severe case, and it is disheartening to witness,” remarked Craig Hayes, Assistant Chief of the Seymour Police Department.I find it incomprehensible that an individual could commit such a heinous act against a dog, especially considering that the animal has never posed a threat to anyone. Authorities suspected that the gunfire originated from a nearby property, and they quickly pursued the suspect. It was not long before they discovered bullets and a firearm concealed within a neighbor’s residence. Alongside a BB gun and pellets, law enforcement also uncovered methamphetamine and drug-related paraphernalia in the suspect’s home, as reported by the Daily Mail. I sincerely hope that the individual responsible receives a lengthy prison sentence and faces the consequences of their actions. Furthermore, I firmly believe that upon release, they should be prohibited from coming into contact with dogs or any other animals. Despite the significant trauma endured, Jackson is reportedly making a good recovery, according to Hayden. Please view the news report regarding this incident.
