Elon Musk’s Shocking New Home: Ultra-Cheap, Modular, and Can Be Moved Anywhere – Is This the Future of Luxury Living?

Elon Musk rents a compact residence from SpaceX, priced at just under $50,000, which is believed to encompass approximately 37 square meters of living space. In early 2020, Musk made the decision to divest most of his properties to concentrate on the production of electric vehicles, rocket development, and the management of his various business ventures. Following this decision, the CEO of Tesla and SpaceX sold all of his mansions and relocated to a rental home in Boca Chica, Texas, the site of SpaceX’s development and testing operations.

On August 7, Walter Isaacson, Musk’s biographer and former editor of Time magazine, as well as the president of CNN and author of several biographies of notable figures such as Leonardo da Vinci, Benjamin Franklin, Einstein, and Steve Jobs, shared a photograph of a prefabricated house on his personal page, accompanied by an introduction to his forthcoming book on Elon Musk.

Isaacson noted, “In 2020, Musk opted to sell his five large residences and transitioned to this two-bedroom house as his primary dwelling in Boca Chica, Texas.” Although Galiano Tiramani, co-founder of Boxabl, has not officially verified Musk’s residence in one of the company’s Casitas, the brand recently suggested in a promotional video that it was installing a unit for a “top secret client.” This innovative design can be set up in just one day, as it folds for easy transport and is quickly assembled on-site.

The prefabricated unit is reportedly being installed at the Starbase launch site in Boca Chica, Texas. The compact layout efficiently utilizes the enclosed space, featuring a full-sized kitchen with a wraparound breakfast bar, a comfortable living area, a cozy sleeping space, and a sleek, modern bathroom.
In this design, an innovative room divider effectively distinguishes the living area from the bedroom, featuring a snug electric fireplace seamlessly integrated into the wall. Boxabl’s flat-pack home designs offer customization options, allowing Musk the opportunity to infuse his personal style into the interiors.

Unlike some compact kitchens that utilize miniature appliances and limited counter space, this design boasts a spacious refrigerator, oven, microwave, double sink, and dishwasher. White shaker cabinets and glass-fronted display units provide ample storage for crockery and glassware.

Although the tiny house may lack space for a full dining table, the kitchen counter has been ingeniously extended to form a breakfast bar accommodating two. Situated at the corner adjacent to the main road, this exemplifies the small house’s resourceful use of space.

Equipped with standard heating and air conditioning, each power outlet includes an integrated USB plug, catering to the needs of tech enthusiasts. Additionally, due to the home’s superior insulation and energy-efficient technology, Boxabl reports that the average utility bill is merely $28 per month.

Positioned behind the living area, the bedroom incorporates smart space-saving solutions. Two half-sized wardrobes with hanging space are cleverly situated beneath the tabletop of the room divider, while compact compartments and drawers are ideal for storing accessories and keepsakes.

The bathroom, concealed behind a glass door, may be modest in size but offers a wealth of features, including a spacious vanity and the option of a deep bathtub or shower, depending on the homeowner’s preferences. With a sleek and streamlined design, there is ample storage, and the large backlit mirror enhances the luxurious feel of the modern space.

Attention to detail is evident in the fixtures, from faucets to matte black showerheads and glass sinks. Moreover, the walk-in shower, while compact, is designed for functionality.

Having scaled back his extravagant lifestyle, this billionaire is now focused on the future. Elon Musk has divested all his properties to expedite his ambition of conquering the universe.
