Emma Watson is Expected to Reprise Her Role in the Harry Potter Reboot, but Will She Set Aside Her Discontent with J.K. Rowling? Fans Will Be Surprised by the Reality

Since her initial appearance alongside Daniel Radcliffe and Rupert Grint, Emma Watson has established herself as a highly regarded actress in Hollywood. Although nearly half of her filmography is comprised of the Harry Potter series, she has also demonstrated her talent through a variety of compelling performances. However, she has taken a step back from acting in recent years, with her last role being in the 2019 film Little Women.

Emma Watson Was Contacted for a Harry Potter Project

The original Harry Potter series commenced with the 2001 release of The Philosopher’s Stone and concluded a decade later with The Deathly Hallows – Part 2. Following the 2011 film, Warner Bros. expressed intentions to develop a ninth installment titled Harry Potter and The Cursed Child.

Based on a stage play of the same name, the studio aimed to create a cinematic adaptation featuring the original cast, including Emma Watson, Daniel Radcliffe, and Rupert Grint. Reports indicated that Watson was approached for this project; however, she reportedly declined the opportunity due to her unwillingness to collaborate with J.K. Rowling in light of the author’s transphobic remarks.

Rowling has remained a polarizing figure since she publicly articulated her views on the transgender community. Watson has been among the cast members who have voiced opposition to the author and expressed support for the community. She has also reportedly distanced herself from Rowling and has chosen not to engage in future projects with her. This stance is believed to be a significant factor in Watson’s decision not to return for Harry Potter and The Cursed Child.
