Greg Gutfeld Shares Heartfelt Struggles of a Family Member After Welcoming New Baby
Greg Gutfeld discusses the emotional distress experienced by a family pet following the arrival of his new baby.
Upon returning to Fox News after a brief hiatus due to the birth of his first child, Mira, with his wife, Elena Moussa, Gutfeld shared insights into the unexpected response of their French Bulldog, Gus.
The 60-year-old television personality had raised concerns among fans during his absence, but he has now resumed his roles on both Gutfeld! and The Five after a six-week break.
During his reappearance on The Five, Gutfeld’s co-hosts presented him with gifts and a celebratory cake to mark the occasion.
In a lighthearted manner, Gutfeld admitted that he has yet to change a diaper, humorously stating that he is “never around” when Mira needs one.
As he embraced his new role as a father, Gutfeld opened a gift intended for Gus—a blue and black plaid neckerchief that read “Big brother.”
However, it appears that Gus is struggling with the transition to being an older sibling. When asked about Gus’s adjustment to Mira’s arrival, Gutfeld remarked, “Oh, Gus – I must say, this is the challenge of having a French Bulldog with a child.
“The dog is experiencing significant emotional distress, no longer being the dominant figure in the Gutfeld household. Consequently, he has taken to performing ritualistic urination, including peeing in front of the nursery for no apparent reason.”
The dog is experiencing significant emotional distress, having lost his status as the dominant pet in the Gutfeld household. Consequently, he engages in peculiar urination behaviors, such as relieving himself in front of the nursery for no apparent reason.
Gutfeld then diverted attention by presenting a unicorn onesie for the baby, which interrupted his discussion about Gus. However, it is evident that he intended to mention the dog’s recent habit of urinating throughout the house without justification.
Several weeks prior, Gutfeld’s co-host Dana Perino conveyed a message from him, revealing that he and his wife of two decades, Elena Moussa, 42, had welcomed a daughter. “This will come as a delightful surprise to many of you,” Dana began, adding, “You may have noticed that our friend Greg Gutfeld has been absent for a couple of weeks, and there is a valid reason for it.”
“This is a statement he sent me today, and I will read it as if I were Greg,” she continued. “It is with immense joy that my wife Elana and I announce the arrival of our baby girl. Mira is healthy and has quite a set of lungs.”
Gutfeld made his return to social media on Christmas Day, sharing several festive posts with his 541,000 followers on Instagram.
His first post featured an endearing photo of Gus lounging on the couch. He humorously noted, “As usual, he got me nothing for Christmas. However, he did leave something resembling coal in the center of the living room.”
A few hours later, Gutfeld posted a video of himself and Gus enjoying a winter walk in the snow. Gus appeared adorable in a small black coat, eagerly sniffing and frolicking while Gutfeld narrated, “Oh, he’s happy. Look at him climb the hill. This is beneficial, probably for me as well.”
Nevertheless, Gutfeld added a caption to the post stating, “Upstate sick as a dog. Not this dog. He’s doing fine,” implying that he himself was not feeling well.
Despite Gutfeld’s update, fans expressed their excitement to see him active on social media. In the comments, one fan remarked, “Hearing your voice brought tears to my eyes, and the news about the baby was heartwarming.”
Congratulations, Elena and Gus, on the arrival of your baby. I am truly delighted for all of you. However, I am certain that I am not alone in expressing how much we miss you. We sincerely hope you will return soon.
Another individual remarked: “Congratulations! Wishing you a joyful and healthy new year. We eagerly await your return, as the show is not quite the same without your presence.”
A third person commented: “Merry Christmas! I hope you are feeling better. Enjoy your new baby, as they will grow up quickly. We look forward to your return, as you are greatly missed.”
