In a follow-up poll, 45 percent of Americans “strongly” disapprove of Biden’s performance, while only 13 percent strongly approve.

In comparison, Donald Trump’s sixth-quarter approval rating was 42 percent, the same as Jimmy Carter’s previous lowest score in 1978.

Biden’s Approval Rating Is Declining

Former President George W. Bush had the highest sixth-quarter average, at 75%, with Gallup polls at the time showing the Republican’s approval ratings in the mid- to high-90s.

When broken down further, Joe Biden is also at an all-time low in terms of Democratic support. According to a July Gallup poll, 78 percent of Democrats approve of Biden’s presidency, the lowest level since December 2021.

Less than one-third (30%) of Democrats strongly approve of Biden. While nearly half (45%) of all voters polled strongly disapprove of the job he’s doing as president. Almost the same Proportion of Independents (43 percent) say they strongly disapprove of Biden. As do an overwhelming 87 percent of Republicans.

Biden’s constantly falling approval ratings have begun to raise concerns within his own party about the upcoming midterm elections as well as the 2024 election.

Several other polls have found that a majority of voters do not want Biden to run again. With a recent New York Times/Sienna College poll found that 64% of Democratic voters would prefer a new candidate.
