Missing 2-year-old Dane Paulsen found dead

The remains of 2-year-old Dane Paulsen, who had been reported missing on March 1, were discovered on March 11 in the Siletz River in Oregon, approximately three miles from his family’s residence. Despite a thorough search effort that included volunteers, K9 units, drones, and divers, it is with great sorrow that we report Dane was found deceased. His body was recovered by volunteer diver Juan Heredia, who was assisted by a local river expert.

The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office conveyed their sympathies and requested that both the public and media honor the family’s need for privacy during this challenging period. Within the first 24 hours, authorities had conducted searches over 382 acres and along 283 miles. Although a vehicle was spotted near the family home at the time of Dane’s disappearance, the driver was not considered a person of interest. The circumstances did not warrant the issuance of an Amber Alert.
