NFL fans demand Carrie Underwood performs Super Bowl 60 halftime show after Donald Trump inauguration performance

Underwood is collaborating with the network that will broadcast next year’s major event. This request follows the country singer’s performance at President Donald Trump’s inauguration last month, where she sang “America The Beautiful.” Super Bowl 60 is scheduled to occur at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California, home of the San Francisco 49ers, and will be aired on NBC.

Social media users are advocating for country music artist Carrie Underwood, known for her rendition of NBC’s Sunday Night Football theme song, to headline the halftime show on February 8, 2026. Last year’s halftime show featured Grammy-winning rapper Kendrick Lamar, who performed during the matchup between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Philadelphia Eagles, accompanied by special guest R&B singer SZA, receiving acclaim from fans.

Following the Eagles’ decisive 40-22 victory over the Chiefs, NBC utilized social media to promote the upcoming Super Bowl, which will be broadcast on their channel and held at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California. Many fans expressed their desire for Underwood to take the stage during halftime, with comments such as, “We want a halftime show with Carrie Underwood,” and “Next year the Super Bowl halftime show needs to have Carrie!” Another user suggested a collaboration between Morgan Wallen and Underwood for a musical reinterpretation of “The Dukes of Hazzard.”

Given Underwood’s long-standing association with NBC, having performed the Sunday Night Football theme since 2013, her involvement in the event seems fitting. However, it is worth noting that the eight-time Grammy winner experienced a significant technical glitch during her inauguration performance, resulting in several seconds of silence on live television when the music for “America The Beautiful” was expected to play.
Underwood, along with the entire audience, appeared perplexed by the unfolding events.

Subsequently, she delivered the song in an acapella format, garnering predominantly favorable feedback for her rendition.

Nevertheless, following the incident, a source informed The U.S. Sun that Underwood has been reconsidering her decision to perform at the event. Typically, the NFL reveals the halftime performer for the Super Bowl during the regular season.

In September, the league announced that the 22-time Grammy Award winner, Lamar, would headline the halftime show for Super Bowl 59 in New Orleans.

During his performance, a protestor was observed on stage at the Caesars Superdome, brandishing a flag that represented both Palestine and Sudan.

The individual, a male, remained on stage for several minutes before security became aware of his presence.

He then leaped off the stage and sprinted onto the field, where he was subsequently subdued by a security personnel.

The protestor was taken into custody but will not face any charges, as confirmed by the New Orleans police.

However, he has been prohibited from entering all 32 NFL stadiums.
