President Donald Trump is set to attend the Super Bowl

This Sunday’s Super Bowl in New Orleans is poised to be a remarkable occasion, not only for football enthusiasts but also for historical significance.

President Donald Trump is scheduled to attend the game, marking the first instance of a sitting U.S. president being present at the Super Bowl.

Security arrangements are extensive
The preparations for Super Bowl LIX at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana, are thorough, with the U.S. Secret Service implementing rigorous measures to ensure President Trump’s safety during this prominent event.

Enhanced security protocols are established to safeguard not only the president but also the players, staff, and spectators. Anthony Guglielmi, a representative of the Secret Service, stated, “Comprehensive planning and collaboration have been executed to guarantee the safety of all attendees, players, and staff.”

This year’s Super Bowl is already a significant milestone, and Trump’s involvement further elevates its importance. In addition to attending the game, Trump will engage in a pre-recorded interview with Fox News’ Bret Baier, which will be featured in the network’s Super Bowl coverage. This continues the tradition of presidents appearing on the network prior to the major event, although Trump, similar to his predecessor Joe Biden, has not consistently followed this practice.

Which team does Trump favor?
While Trump has not explicitly declared a preferred team, he hinted at his inclinations during a recent conversation regarding the game’s potential outcome. “I don’t want to say, but there’s a certain quarterback that seems to be a pretty good winner,” he suggested, likely alluding to Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes. Trump, a former businessman with a strong affinity for sports, has expressed considerable admiration for the skilled athlete. On social media, Trump congratulated the Chiefs on their AFC Championship victory, stating, “Congratulations to the Kansas City Chiefs! What a GREAT Team, Coach, Quarterback, and virtually everything else, including those fantastic FANS, that voted for me (MAGA!) in record numbers.”
Donald Trump and American Football
Donald Trump has maintained a notable connection with American football throughout the years, demonstrating a clear enthusiasm for the sport. His preferred NFL team is reportedly the New England Patriots, as stated by CNN.
Trump’s involvement with football dates back to the 1980s when he made several unsuccessful attempts to purchase an NFL franchise. However, he did not relent; he subsequently acquired the New Jersey Generals in the United States Football League (USFL), which was a competitor to the NFL, and even initiated a lawsuit against the NFL in an effort to facilitate a merger.

During his presidency, Trump continued to engage with the sport by attending numerous prominent college football games, particularly in the Southern United States, where he often received warm receptions from the audience. His passion for the game has undeniably remained a significant aspect of his public persona.

Security Takes Center Stage Amid New Orleans Terror Attack
Following the devastating terror attack on Bourbon Street earlier this year, security measures for the Super Bowl have been heightened to the utmost level.

Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem reassured the public by stating that there are currently no credible threats to the event, remarking, “At this moment, we have no specific credible threats to this event… which I believe should provide us all with a sense of security,” she informed reporters in New Orleans on Monday.

Cathy Lanier, the NFL’s Chief of Security, highlighted the comprehensive measures implemented in response to the attack, stating, “We have thoroughly reassessed and stress-tested our timing, communication protocols, contingency measures, and emergency response plans multiple times over the past several weeks.”
With more than 2,700 law enforcement officers from local, state, and federal agencies assigned to the event, it has been designated as a SEAR 1 security event, indicating the highest level of security classification. Officials are committed to ensuring that every conceivable precaution is taken to protect attendees.
What to anticipate from the upcoming major event
Super Bowl 59, scheduled to be held at the Caesars Superdome, promises to be an exhilarating occasion. In addition to the main event, attendees can look forward to activities such as the Super Bowl Experience and Opening Night, an engaging fan event designed for individuals of all ages.

A highlight of the event will undoubtedly be the halftime show, featuring the renowned rapper Kendrick Lamar. The announcement of Lamar as the headliner has generated significant excitement within the music industry. “Rap music is still the most impactful genre to date. And I’ll be there to remind the world why. They got the right one,” Lamar stated in a recent announcement.

Seth Dudowsky, the NFL’s Head of Music, remarked, “Few artists have influenced music and culture as profoundly as Kendrick Lamar. Time and time again, Kendrick has demonstrated his exceptional talent for creating moments that resonate, redefine, and ultimately transform the very essence of hip-hop.”

In a thrilling development, SZA announced on June 24, 2025, that she will join Lamar for the halftime performance, adding another layer of excitement to what is expected to be one of the most memorable shows in Super Bowl history.

As New Orleans gears up for the arrival of fans, security personnel, and media representatives, the anticipation surrounding the event is unmistakable.

With President Trump in attendance, heightened security protocols in effect, and Kendrick Lamar set to deliver a groundbreaking halftime performance, Super Bowl LIX is poised to be a landmark event on numerous levels.
