A shooting incident at the Tet Festival in New Orleans East resulted in two individuals being injured, and law enforcement has taken two suspects into custody in relation to the event.

As reported by NOLA.com, the shooting took place on Saturday, February 8, around 9:30 p.m. in the vicinity of the 14000 block of Dwyer Boulevard. A deputy from the Orleans Parish Sheriff’s Office was alerted to the situation and found two victims suffering from gunshot wounds to the torso.
Both individuals were promptly transported to a local hospital for medical attention, although their current health status remains undisclosed.
Suspects and Charges
Authorities disclosed that one of the victims had engaged in a physical confrontation with two men, identified as Christopher Nguyen and Timothy Nguyen. During this altercation, Timothy allegedly brandished a firearm and discharged it, injuring both victims.
Law enforcement swiftly apprehended both suspects, who now face charges of:
- Two counts of aggravated second-degree battery
- Additional charges may be forthcoming as the investigation continues.
