Trump Takes Aim At Democrat Policies In New York Including ‘Sanctuaries’ For Migrants
President Donald Trump intends to exert pressure on New York to abolish the congestion pricing in Manhattan by utilizing the Department of Transportation, which has the authority to withhold federal funding or initiate new environmental assessments.
In discussions with Governor Kathy Hochul, Trump referred to the $9 toll as “destructive” and expressed his commitment to abolishing it if necessary. He also criticized the implementation of bike lanes and pedestrian zones, attributing them to heightened congestion and safety concerns.
Furthermore, Trump cautioned that his Justice Department will focus on New York’s “sanctuary” policies, with the possibility of legal action against the state and city for obstructing federal immigration enforcement.
He contended that sanctuary cities primarily protect criminals, reflecting recent actions taken by the Department of Justice against leaders in Illinois and Chicago.
