The Plot Of See How They Run

In the 1950s in London, plans for a movie adaptation of a famous play abruptly end when an essential participant in the cast is killed. A grumpy inspector and a young constable are eager to take on the investigation. They are in a tense whodunit in the glamorously sexy underground theater world, investigating the mysterious murder at their own risk.

Script

The script doesn’t create suspense throughout the film. Instead, it relies on the red herring clich√© to keep viewers on their toes. You’ll always require one, but the red herring must always be able to reveal an even more intriguing fact. You may not be able to see the absolute truth, and it’s tied to a fascinating backstory. However, it’s kept from the viewer that there is the least amount of reward. An unassuming, satisfying and thrilling challenge isn’t easy. Yet, it’s the primary driving force of the story, which makes it easy to allow everything else in the movie to fail if it fails to meet the expectations that the whole story is constructing.

Moreover, the biggest disappointment is how the proper character introduction is lacking. We have no idea who they are. The characters and, yes, there must be a sense of mystery to avoid divulging the story in a hurry, But when you don’t let your viewers know who the characters are, they won’t know who’s responsible for the murders. This is the same for our central police pair. For a memorable crime story, you require an intelligent detective. Both Stoddard and Stalker are devoid of layers or depth. They are like the faces of the people they’re looking into.

Does See How They Run Justify To Be A Murder Mystery?

The genre of a murder mystery is among the most adored genres of entertainment. Television series, whether an ongoing procedural or limited series, films of all budgets, and, of course, the mystery novel – the world is full of a good whodunit. We’ve seen a plethora of murder mystery films of varying quality. Rian Johnson’s Knives Out took the world with its enthralling success, leading to its due for a sequel in the coming months. A genre that is so crowded can result in certain films feeling dull and repetitive, with every plot element that’s supposed to be exciting, something we’ve seen countless times previously. Tom George’s murder mystery comedy, See How They Run, is an ode to the genre of murder mysteries featuring high-end English accents, a variety of characters who aren’t liked, and a detective wearing woolen and a felt coat. Also, the queen of mystery herself was the legendary Agatha Christie. The film is all the hallmarks of a classic crime story that feels like an ode to a Christie-inspired tale and trying to be a true Christie-Esque story on its own.

Conclusion

Finally, See How They Run resembles too many commendations and insufficient originality. It’s not terrible. It’s a blast and a great film for family movie nights. However, it isn’t exciting. It’s a two-hour film and is worth a look simply for the cast, particularly Ronan, because it’s always enjoyable to watch an experienced actor attempt to do something different. However, if you are a person who is always out looking for a good mystery film, you should give it a try.
